Driving along the street, we've all seen someone with a sign that says "homeless and hungry, anything helps." How many times have we passed that person thinking, I want to help, but in a more effective way?
If you've ever wondered how you can help the homeless population in Sarasota County without personally handing out money, volunteering at homeless shelters, or buying a meal for the person sitting on the side of the road, consider giving to Family Promise of South Sarasota County.
Family Promise of South Sarasota County is a faith-based non-profit organization which enables the community to work together to address the needs of homeless children and families by providing temporary shelter, meals, and comprehensive services to help them achieve lasting self-sufficiency.
A great time to give to help us serve homeless families is tomorrow, May 1st starting a 12 pm during The 2018 Giving Challenge. To strengthen giving during the 2018 Giving Challenge, The Patterson Foundation will provide a 1:1 match for all unique donations up to $100 per donor, per organization. The Giving Challenge ends May 2nd at 12 pm. To take advantage of the 1:1 match by The Patterson Foundation, donations must be made on The Family Promise of South Sarasota County Giving Challenge Page.
For anyone needing assistance completing their donation online, Family Promise of South Sarasota County is hosting an open house Tuesday, May 1st from 12 pm to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 6 pm. Come get a tour of our facility, meet our staff, and learn more about how Family Promise of South Sarasota County is helping families. FPSSC would like to thank Gold Rush for providing food for our open house.
