There are over 450 children in South Sarasota County schools who have been identified as homeless.

Family Promise of South Sarasota County, a 501(c)(3) non-profit established in 2014 with a Board of Directors, seeks to help families with minor children who are in temporary need of housing.

  • Our Day Center, the hub for families during their time in the Family Promise Program, opened October 15, 2015 after extensive remodeling for showers and facilities.  We took our first family that day.
  • Between 2016 and 2017, our community partners raised $63,000 through a capital project for a playground at our Day Center.  The playground was completed in the summer of 2017.
  • Our offices opened in February of 2018.
